[Review] Hótel Húsafell, West Iceland
Hótel Húsafell is located in Borgarfjörður, West Iceland. The region is a magical area in so many ways because it’s history is deeply rooted in the Icelandic Sagas. The place is a dream for hikers and you can go on glaciers tours as well. The region is one of the best in Iceland to view the northern lights in Iceland. A direct drive from Reykjavik to Hotel Husafell takes about 1.5 hours (125km). The drive is easy and photogenic. Húsafell is surrounded by magnificent glaciers e.g. Langjökull which offers several activities including Into the Glacier tour, snowmobiling, super jeep tours all accessible year round with the right equipment & guide.
Hotel Husafell offers thirty 22m² comfortable standard rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Four of the rooms are handicap accessible. Each room is beautifully decorated with paintings from Husafell’s own world-renowned artist, Pall Gudmundssson. Breakfast buffet is included in the room price. For even greater comfort and luxury, the hotel offers six 28m² deluxe rooms. For groups visiting Iceland this is a great spot with several meeting rooms and free WiFi.
Hotel Husafell has two restaurants with four dining halls. Their Nordic menu is influenced by international cuisine owes its flavour and richness to the high quality of our locally grown products.
My favorite part about the hotel was the exceptional service and the food! It was amazing and the decor is beautiful. I had the five course gourmet menu and I highly recommend it.
